I) Remember:
-Khi chuyển từ một lời nói trực tiếp sang gián tiếp chúng ta
cần lưu ý một số vấn đề sau:
a.Nếu động từ tường thuật chia ở các thì hiện tại
thì chúng ta giữ nguyên thì của động từ chính,các đại từ chỉ định,các trạng từ
chỉ nơi chốn cũng như trạng từ chỉ thời gian trong câu
trực tiếp khi chuyển sang câu gián tiếp.
Eg:Hoa says,”I want to go home”.
Động từ TT-V chinh
Hoa says she
wants to go home.
-He says,”I am going
to Hanoi next week”.
He says he is going to HN next week
b. Giảm thì là
lấy động từ gần chủ từ nhất giảm xuống 1 cột.
cụ
thể: V- cột 1 thì giảm thành cột 2, ( không phải là động từ bất qui tắc thì
thêm ed),
cột 2 thì giảm thành cột 3
riêng cột 3 không đứng 1 mình
được nên phải thêm had phía trước
will/shall -> would/should;
must -> had to.
+
Các trường hợp sau đây không giảm thì:
-
Chân lý, sự thật.
-
Trong câu có năm xác định.
- Động từ quá khứ trong mệnh đề when.
- Thì quá khứ hoàn thành.
- Động từ quá khứ trong mệnh đề when.
- Thì quá khứ hoàn thành.
-
Câu thuộc cấu trúc đã giảm thì rồi ( Sau: as if, as though, if
only, wish, it's high time, would rather, câu điều kiện loại 2, 3
)

c) Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn cũng như đại từ chỉ định được thay đổi theo quy tắc
sau:

Nguyên tắc trên được áp dụng cho tất
cả các loại câu tường thuật.
II) Các loại tường
thuật cơ bản:
1.Reported statements (tường
thuật dạng câu phát biểu)
+ Các
động từ của mệnh đề chính trong câu tường thuật là : SAY , TELL , ANNOUNCE ,
INFORM , DECLARE , ASURE , REMARK , DENY.....
+ có thể đổi : says/say
to+O àtells/tell+O
said to+ Oà told+O
+ liên từ THAT thay cho dấu hai chấm
+ Tell hay say?

Ta dùng tell khi muốn đề cập đến người nghe.

Ta dùng say khi không muốn đề cập đến người nghe.
|
Ta có thể không dùng túc từ gián tiếp (me, her,
v.v) với tell trong các cụm từ như:
tell a story, tell the truth, tell
a lie, v.v
|
Đôi khi ta dùng giới từ to với say khi lời
nói không được tường thuật.
|
Eg:He said to me”I haven’t finished
my work”

told me he hadn’t finished his work.
2.Reported
questions:(Tường thuật dạng câu hỏi)
Đổi: says/say to+Oàasks/ask+O
said to+Oàasked+O.
a)Yes/No questions:
S+ asked/wanted to know/wondered + if/weather+ S + V

Eg .”Are you angry?”he askedàHe
asked if/whether I was angry.
(Chuyển câu hỏi ở câu trực tiếp sang dạng khẳng định rồi thực
hiện thay đổi thì,trạng từ chỉ thời gian,nơi chốn,chủ ngữ,tân ngữ...)
b) Wh-questions:
S+ asked (+O)/wanted to know/wondered + Wh-words + S+V.

Eg.”What are you talking about?”said
the teacher.

teacher asked us what we were talking about.
3.Reported commands (Tường
thuật câu mệnh lệnh).
cách nhận dạng câu mệnh lệnh: Đầu
câu là:
- Động từ nguyên mẫu.
- Don’t
- Can you
- Could you
- Would you
- Would you mind
- Please ( please có thể ở cuối câu)
*Khẳng định: ® S + told/asked
+ O + to-infinitive.
Eg.”Please wait for me here,Mary.”Tom saidàTom
told Mary to wait for him there.
*Phủ định: S + told/asked + O + NOT
to-infinitive.
Eg.”Don’t talk in class”,the teacher said to us.-->The
teacher told us not to talk in class.
+ tell ( dùng mang ý
mệnh lệnh- commands),
ask ( dùng mang ý yêu cầu- requests)
- "Please close the window! the man said to me.àThe
man asked me to close the window.
III) Các mẫu câu tường
thuật nâng cao:
1) S + V + O (người) + (Not) to Inf.
+ advise, ask , tell, beg ( van xin ), encourage (động viên), invite (mời ), order ( ra lệnh ), reminded ( nhắc
nhở ), warn ( cảnh báo ), want, urge ( thúc hối), .....
2) S + V + to Inf.
+ agree ( đồng ý
), decide, offer ( đề nghị giúp ai),
promise (hứa), propose ( có ý định ), refuse (từ chối), threaten
( đe dọa),...
3) S+V-ing
+ admit (thừa nhận), apologize for, insist
on (khăng khăng đòi), deny(phủ
nhận), stop, suggest (đề
nghị)...
4) S + V + O(người) + giới từ + Ving / N +
Accuse sb of (buộc tội ai về....),
Prevent sb from (ngăn không cho ai làm gì )
Congratulate sb on ( chúc mừng ai về việc gì )
Blame sb for ( đổ lỗi ai về việc gì )
Blame sth on sb ( đổ tội gì cho ai )
Blame sb for ( đổ lỗi ai về việc gì )
Blame sth on sb ( đổ tội gì cho ai )
Warn sb against ( cảnh báo ai không nên làm điều gì ) - lưu ý
mẫu này không dùng not
Thank sb for ( cám ơn ai về việc gì )
Criticize sb for ( phê bình ai việc gì )
5) Câu điều kiện ở lời nói
gián tiếp:
a.Điều kiện có thật,có thể xảy ra:Chúng ta áp dụng quy tắc
chung của lời nói gián tiếp.
Eg.He said,”If I have much money,I’ll
travel around the world.”
àHe
said (that)If he had much money ,he would travel around the world.
b.Điều kiện không có thật/giả sử:Chúng ta giữ nguyên,không
đổi.
Eg.”If I had two wings,I would fly
everywhere”,he said
àHe
said If he had two wings,he would fly everywhere.
IV) Các mẫu câu tường
thuật đặc biệt:
1) S + advise + O + to inf
+
dùng khi gặp các mẫu sau:
S + had better
S + should
Why don’t you….
If I were you…
“ Why don’t you go to school early? ”,
said my mother.
ð My mother advised me to go to
school early.
- My friend said to me, “ If
I were you, I would met him”
=> My friend advised me to meet him.
2) S + invite +
O + to inf
Would you like ….?
3) S + suggest + Ving
Let’s…
Why don’t we…
Shall we…
How about …..
My friend said to me,” Let’s go
out for a drink”
=> My friend suggested going out for a
drink.
4)
Các dạng câu kép (có 2 câu nói trong 1 dấu ngoặc kép)
-
dùng liên từ để nối các câu đó lại
a)
Nếu 2 câu là nguyên nhân, kết quả của nhau: Because/ So
- “Don’t tell me to do that. I don’t like it “
=> He asked me not to tell him to do that because
he did not like it.
b)
Nếu 2 câu đó không có liên quan về nhân quả mà chỉ là 2 câu nói liên tiếp nhau:
And added that ( và nói thêm rằng)
- I miss my mother. I will visit her tomorrow.”
=> She
said that she missed her mother and added that
she would visit her the next day.
c)
Nếu 2 câu khác dạng nhau thì tùy câu đầu vẫn làm bình thường sau đó thêm
and và động từ tường thuật riêng của câu sau.
“This is my book. Don’t take it away.” ( câu đầu dạng phát biểu,
câu sau dạng mệnh lệnh)
She said that was her book and told
me not to take it away.
- “Tomorrow is my birthday. Do you remember that?” ( câu đầu
dạng phát biểu, câu sau dạng câu hỏi)
=> She said that the next day was her birthday and
asked me if I remembered that.
